If your team is transitioning to a dedicated password manager, your first order of business should be cleaning up those saved browser credentials. Here is how to do it step-by-step:
**In Google Chrome:**
- Open **Chrome** and click the **three vertical dots** in the top-right corner of your window.
- Navigate to **Passwords** and **Autofill > Google Password Manager**.
- Click on **Settings** in the left-hand sidebar.
- Toggle off the option that says **Offer to save passwords**.
- Return to your saved passwords list to review and delete stored credentials so they live safely inside your new password manager instead.
**In Microsoft Edge:**
- Open **Edge** and click the **three horizontal dots** in the top-right corner.
- Select **Settings**, then click on **Profiles > Passwords**.
- Toggle off **Offer to save passwords**.
- Scroll down to your saved passwords list, select the entries, and click **Delete**.
While this seems like a minor consideration, taking five minutes to clear these out removes a huge lingering security risk.
